Seared Ahi Tuna with Special Sauces

Aicious and elegant dish that combines the delicate flavors of fresh ahi tuna with a sweet, salty and spicy sauce. The tuna is quickly seared in a skillet until crispy on the outside and pink in the middle, then drizzled with the spicy sauce for a burst of flavor.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 6-ounce ahi tuna steaks
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon chili garlic sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Sliced green onions for garnish
  • 2 tbsp kewpie mayo
  • 1 tsp Sriracha

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, chili garlic sauce, green onions, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic. Set aside.
  • Season the ahi tuna steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over high heat.
  • Once the skillet is hot, add the tuna steaks to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes per side, or until desired doneness is reached. You want the tuna to be seared on the outside but still pink in the middle.
  • Remove the tuna steaks from the skillet and let rest for a few minutes.
  • Drizzle the spicy sauce over the tuna steaks and sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish.
  • Serve the seared ahi tuna with spicy sauce immediately.
